Observations from Friday's 90-77 victory over the Bulls at AmericanAirlines A rena: First-round pick showdown? Uh, not quite. Just more of Dwyane Wade leading the offense and Daequan Cook enjoying another 3-for-all. No. 1 overall Derrick Rose missed his first five shots before converting a dunk in transition. The Bulls point guard did not look very sharp. While a scratched arm limited Michael Beasley to 10 first-half minutes, this time the No. 2 overall selection made the most of his minutes, with an aggressive approach, lifting the Heat offense when Wade took his fourth-quarter breather. The best rookie on this night? Heat second-rounder Mario Chalmers, who came up with shots and stops against Rose. The Heat trailed 51-47 with 7:52 to play in the third quarter when Luol Deng was lost for good with a sprained left ankle. That left Chicago with no Deng, no Kirk Hinrich, no Drew Gooden. And that left the Heat with the clearly superior remaining roster. After reiterating Chris Quinn was his backup point guard, Erik Spoelstra again went with Marcus Banks as his point guard off the bench behind Chalmers. Banks did little to inspire confidence. This was one of the rare times with Joel Anthony when it could have been argued that the Heat had the better starting center… until Chicago's Aaron Gray began to seize control inside. The Heat managed to make Gray look like, well, Brook Lopez. When Gray reached 12 points midway through the third quarter it represented a season high for the second-year Pitt product. Spoelstra eventually had to turn to Jamaal Magloire for size against Gray. With so many misses in the wayward-shooting game, it set up as the perfect game for Shawn Marion to pick up the garbage. He could have done even more with the trash had he not missed to many easy inside attempts. Two fouls sent Wade to the bench with 7:05 to play in the first quarter, a dreadfully sloppy period that ended with the Bulls up 21-18 after five Heat turnovers in the period. In one of the Heat's best one-on-one defensive sequences of the season, Udonis Haslem found himself isolated against Ben Gordon, kept Gordon from shaking him, then forced a wayward jumper. The Bulls' three first-half fouls tied the opponent low for any half ever against the Heat. Then again, the way the Heat is shooting free throws, that might not have been such a bad thing. ============================================================================== -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.228.99.237
