Eric Reid

Eric Reid is the play-by-play announcer for all Miami HEAT basketball games
televised on Sun Sports. Reid, who is anoriginal member of the HEAT broadcast
ing team, enters his 17th season and is joined by color analyst Tony Fiorenti
no for each HEAT game telecast on Sun Sports. This will be Reid's 27th season
of broadcasting basketball and his 17th year of calling play-by-play for the
HEAT. He also hosts Sun Sports'Emmy-nominated INSIDE THE HEAT series. In
addition to his HEAT duties, Eric has served as the play-by-play announcer for
FIU and FAU football games on Sun Sports.

Reid first became the play-by-play announcer for the HEAT in 1991 and worked
with Dave Wohl on the telecasts. That was the first time the HEAT made the
NBA Playoffs. Reid moved over to do play-by-play after working the previous
three years as the analyst on Miami telecasts.

Prior to joining the HEAT, Reid spent 11 seasons as a college basketball
broadcaster. For six years he was the radio voice of Providence College
Hoops, including the Friars memorable 1987 trip to the NCAA Final Four. Reid
has remained active with the Big East Conference calling football and
basketball games for ESPN Regional. Reid also spent three years working in
Boston for the New England Sports Network (NESN) and hosted both pre- and
post-game shows for the Boston Red Sox. While at NESN, he also did
play-by-play for the Pawtucket Red Sox, Boston's Triple-A affiliate and
called three seasons of Boston College football. He was also the host and
writer for the syndicated weekly television show, "This Week in the Big East."

Reid's broadcast career began as the radio play-by-play voice of Cornell
University football, basketball and lacrosse when he served as sports
director at WHCU Radio in Ithaca, NY. He has also done play-by-play work for
Brown University football, University of Miami football and University of
South Florida basketball. In 1990, he called the NCAA Lacrosse National
Championships for ESPN.

Reid is a 1979 graduate of Ithaca College and a native of Massapequa, NY. He
resides in Cooper City, FL.
