   The Lakers will not sign Raja Bell, according to an top-ranked official
   within the Lakers' front office.

   Despite being endorsed by Kobe Bryant, the journeyman guard has rejected the
   Lakers' multi-year contract offer of $1.8 million per year.

   After missing most of the 2009-2010 NBA season with a wrist injury, Raja Bell
   has made a full recovery and is ready to play in the upcoming season.

   Bell is viewed as a tough, veteran roleplayer among league executives, many
   of whom respect the swingman's tough defense and sharp accuracy from the
   perimeter.

   Raja Bell has indicated to the Laker front office that he intends to sign
   with the Miami Heat or Orlando Magic.

   With Bell no longer an option, the Lakers will turn to other available free
   agent guards.
