nearly 30 seconds and was flying in an erratic manner. The order to down the
aircraft was given when it buzzed several American ships, including the
USS WISCONSIN, USS ENGLAND, USS O'BRIEN and two British frigates,
HMS Ships BATTLEAXE and JUPITER.
All vessels in the area fired on the alien spacecraft, which was described by
officers as a chromium plated aircraft which emitted a high pitched piercing
sound unlike conventional jets. The UFO was most likely downed by a missile,
although every ship in the US Task Force deployed in the Persian Gulf
emptied it’s conventional armaments to destroy it.

基本上，武器越巨大的場合，飛彈是越吃香，但在小武器的場合就不一定了
蘇聯大搞飛彈化的極致是在戰車上，連戰車砲都要能發射飛彈
雖然飛彈解決了早期射控系統的長程精確度問題，不過HEAT彈頭的穿甲力與彈徑有關
而彈徑嚴重為砲管所限，則其穿甲力的進步反而不如後來穿甲力與長度相關的APFSDS了
