某個正在開發中的 RichDevX 專案放出了幾張關於 Service mode 的圖片,
他們宣稱已經找到方法進入 Service mode,
在 Service mode 中在畫面的右下角會看到一個紅色的框框,
在該模式中允許執行許多正常模式不能執行的軟體,
其中之一包含降級,
OtherOS 作者對此表示若能夠降級到 3.15 版本對於 OtherOS 開發將更加有利,
但這這仍然需要 PSGroove 這意味著你只能從 3.41 降到之前的版本,
而無法從 3.41 以上的版本降級 (3.42,3.5)

Today French site PS3Gen.fr (linked above) reports news of a project RichDevX
is working on where a PSGroove payload is utilized for examining PS3 Service
Mode.
To quote, roughly translated: "RichDevX tells us about his progress with his
playload to put the PlayStation 3 in service mode and recently released two
snapshots of progress.
It is indeed working on a payload to get the console into service mode and be
able to launch a file. Choke on every boot via a USB key and others.
As shown in this first image, we can see the red box on the XMB showing that
the console actually went into service mode. In this mode, it is possible to
run specific software, including one allowing the downgrade (the opposite of
update, ie back to a previous firmware).
OtherOS who says so says downgrade option of going back 3.15 for benefit of
OtherOS plus most of the hack with PSGroove.
Payload through this, it is also possible to run each time you start the
console, loading a file. Self from a USB key as explained above. This could
allow the hack using only one time a dongle or other, then your USB stick
could complete the task alone. Advances in the underground world push the
limits even further, watch this."
