若是質疑這一點，依據我逐字逐句對照我手邊Rossi自傳英文版的寫法，
我覺得原PO的做法就如同他所說的是潤飾及配合台灣的閱讀、文字使用習慣。
（因原PO說他手邊的是簡體版，所以我大膽假設是內地版；有誤請指正）
舉個例子來說好了，
在「Rossi 自傳 - 02. 偉大的轉變」中，有一段是：
許久以前，那時我剛下定決心代表山葉車隊參加 2004 年度的世界摩托車錦標賽，
我曾經期盼有一輛好車可以伴我贏得開幕站 Welkom 賽道的比賽。
那是在車隊經理 Davide Brivio 和賽車主管 Lin Jarvis 的一次會面中，
我提出來要一輛好車，準備在南非奪冠。他們倆一臉的困窘。
英文版原文為：
I remember the time I said I needed a bike to win at Welkom.
It was during a meeting with Davide Brivio, team director of Yamaha MogoGp,
and Lin Jarvis, managing director of Yamaha Motor Racing,
where I fist decided that I was going to race on the Yamaha for
the 2004 season. I told them I wanted a bike that could win in South Africa.
In other words—win right away. They were all rather at a loss.
將「They were all rather at a loss」譯成「他們倆一臉的困窘」，
就是很妙的用法，又不至於偏離原意。
再例如，在「Rossi 自傳 - 04. 分歧」中，有一段是：
每一次 Gibo 和 HRC 高層會面的時候，都會帶給我一些奇怪的消息，
特別是有一次 Gibo 對我說：「他們提供給你的合約和宇川徹差不多。」
我覺得這無可能啊！
我可是頭號車手耶！但是 Gibo 很肯定，他看我不太相信，
就安排我跟他一起在六月底的時候和 HRC 的高層會面，當時是在荷蘭的 Assen 賽道。
英文版原文為：
Every time Gibo went to meet with the heads of the HRC
(Honda Racing Corporation), he always returned with strange news.
One, in particular, stood out: ”They are offering you
a contract similar to that of Ukawa.”
I thought this was impossible. I thought I was the lead rider.
And Gibo was sure and, since I was incredulous,
he told me to come along at our next scheduled meeting with HRC,
at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, at the end of June.
譯者以粗體字突顯「我覺得這無可能啊！」，
以加強原文平鋪直敘的「I thought this was impossible.」，
真的是很有趣的說法，看到這一段翻譯再配合想像中Rossi小猴可能的表情，
應該很少有人能不發出會心的一笑吧！
要說最原始的版本當然是義大利文版，
只是真的買到手了又有幾個版友看得懂呢？
至少看到這裡，我覺得經過潤飾的譯法是很不錯且貼近原意的；
中文版的推出，更是造福許多買不到英文版的Rossi迷。
當然根據我個人的意見，還是不要有散佈行為比較好啦！
想收看Rossi自傳就到roga的網頁上閱讀，也是很美妙的一件事。（笑）
