Riley hints at Wade's season nearing an end
Pat Riley said before Friday's game in Seattle he is considering shutting
down All-Star guard Dwyane Wade "for an extended period of time." Wade
started for the Heat on Friday.
There's little doubt that Wade will be done for the season once a decision is
made, but we don't know exactly when it's coming. "Somewhere along the way,
if this thing gets further away from us, then I think it would be prudent to
say, 'We've got to take care of our best asset,'" Riley said. Further away?
Riley's comments are laughable, as it's been known that their season is over
prior to the All-Star break, but this is no laughing matter for Wade's
owners. This might be your last chance to move him, and once he is shut down,
Dorell Wright and Ricky Davis will see a big increase in value.
