Joel Przybilla, the reserve center who has been so critical to the Blazers'
success this season, suffered an avulsion of the scaphoid bone in his right
wrist. Przybilla was not at practice Wednesday, so details involving how and
when the injury occurred were limited, but this much is known:

The injury takes six to eight weeks to heal and Przybilla, who is listed as
questionable for Friday's game against the New Orleans Hornets, will try to
play through the ailment.

For all you'd need to know about the scaphoid bone, check out this site. If
you just want the basics ... the bone is located on the thumb side of the
hand and is about the size of cashew.
