Sep 28 Despite coach Nate McMillan's declarations that
Steve Blake would begin
the season as the starting point guard, Miller thinks he has a chance to take
over the gig, The Oregonian reports. "Nothing is set in stone," Miller said.
"I'm not going to get caught up in the starting and all that type of stuff.
My goal is to come in and be a player and don't say too much and find a way to
fit into this system."
Recommendation: Miller has been a starter throughout his career, and given the
lucrative contract (3 years, $22 million) Portland gave him this summer, he'll
probably end up with the job. Even if McMillan stays true to his word and keeps
Blake in the starting lineup, Miller should receive more playing time and be
drafted well ahead of Blake.
