Gasol's return date still up in the air
Reports are obviously varying on when Pau Gasol might play his first game of
the season for the Lakers after missing most of training camp and all of the
regular season with a hamstring injury.
The bottom line is that he's been ruled out for Thursday and Friday's games,
but hopes to start practicing next week. "The more people that I talk to
about it, the more they tell me that hamstrings are really dangerous and
you've got to be extra cautious," Gasol said. "I don't think there's a risk
that you can actually tear it up, but you can re-injure it and then it can
become an issue for the whole year." He could return late next week or he
could be out the rest of the month. Just keep him benched until further
notice.
