There was great news for Bobcats fans at shootaround, as forward Gerald
Wallace was out working with his team and expects to be able to play tonight
at 7 p.m. against the Miami Heat despite suffering a sprained ankle on Monday
against Sacramento.

It should come as no surprise to anybody who has followed Wallace and the
Bobcats over the past few years that as he said, “it would have to be broken
for me not to play.”

Head Coach Larry Brown mentioned in practice on Tuesday that Wallace might
have benefited from the fact that Monday’s game was an early contest, and
Wallace reiterated that fact after shootaround.

“They put me in a boot directly after the game (on Monday), so that gave me
a whole day of taking pressure off of it,” he said. “I didn’t have to walk
on it, so I think that helped out a whole lot and made it feel a lot better
than I thought it would the next day.”

When asked if he thought his minutes would be limited tonight, Wallace smiled
and said, “I have no clue – that’s not my call.”

“We’ll just see how he feels,” added Coach Brown. “Hopefully he’ll be
alright. Nobody is going to let him play if he’s not alright. That’s just
him.”
