G Tony Parker received good news on Monday when results of an MRI exam
taken on his ailing left hip revealed a mild muscle strain.
Parker missed the last game of the team's disappointing (4-4)
rodeo road trip, an overtime loss at Detroit.
"I never like to say when I'm hurt because you feel like a baby,
saying an excuse, but sometimes you just have to say it," Parker said.
"I tried to play through it [Friday] in Philadelphia. Obviously,
it didn't work out too well."
The team's second-leading scorer reported to practice on Tuesday
and was determined to play in Wednesday's important home game
against red-hot Oklahoma City.
Parker returned, but had just four points and no assists in 26 minutes.
He continues to battle season-long injuries, including ongoing
plantar fasciitis in his left foot and multiple ankle sprains.
Doctors have told him his availability the rest of the season
will depend largely on his pain tolerance.
