Report: Andrew Bynum could need knee surgery
Andrew Bynum could eventually need knee surgery which would sideline him for
the season.
We're taking this report with a major grain of salt. An orthopedic surgeon,
who has not been involved in Bynum's treatment and has not seen Bynum's
MRI's, indicated a likely osteochondritis dessicans lesions diagnosis for
Bynum, but it's tough to make that call without being involved in Bynum's
treatment. Every update on Bynum's knees have been negative, so we're not
dismissing this entirely, either. The surgeon added that if Bynum returned
too soon, it could turn into a career-threatening condition. Bynum remains
out indefinitely and Sixers spokesman Mike Preston said the team had no
comment on the report.
