（中央社台北2007年11月09日電）由於燃料成本上漲及房屋價格下跌，讓美國民眾無閒錢
消費，美國11月消費者信心下滑至兩年來最低。
路透社/密西根大學11月前期消費者信心，從10月底的80.9下滑至75，創過去15年來次低
，只比2005年10月卡翠娜颶風過境後的74.2好些。彭博經濟家預期下滑至80。
這份報告引發節日購物季的消費者支出可能疲軟疑慮，正如聯準會主席柏南奇昨天指出，
第四季經濟成長將「顯著放慢」。

U.S. November Consumer Sentiment Index Falls to 75 (Update2)

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Confidence among U.S. consumers fell in November to
the lowest in two years as rising fuel costs and falling home prices left
Americans with less cash to spend, a private survey showed.
The Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary sentiment index fell to 75
from 80.9 at the end of October. It was the second-lowest reading since
President George W. Bush's father was in the White House, just above the
post-Hurricane Katrina figure of 74.2 on October 2005. The index reached 73.3
in October 1992.
The report heightens concern that consumer spending, which accounts for more
than two-thirds of the economy, may weaken more than forecast going into the
holiday shopping season. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke yesterday
said the economy may ``slow noticeably'' in the current quarter.
