Yesterday I played an old PC game on sale since 1996 called "MUMMY--Tomb of
the Pharaoh". I believe that Egypt is a mysterious country. Many places are
filled with incredible myths & legends, such as the pyramids of its capital,
Cairo, the sceneries of the ancient cities, Memphis & Thebes, etc. No wonder
that since the late of the 18th century, when the Napoleon troops planned to
invade Egypt, the scholar Jean Francois Champollion, and simultaneously an
archeologist, would follow to go voluntarily, and the modern French novelist,
Christian Jacq fancies on the Egyptian cultures, even meant to move to Cairo
with his wife and live there.
The most ridiculous legend might be "Tutankhamun's Curse". Tutankhamun is
known as a young king lived over 3,300 years ago during the "New Kingdom"
period of ancient Egypt. He succeeded to the throne at the age of nine and
died around the ninth year of his reign. There is evidence of an injury to
his skull that had time to partly heal. Rumours guide that Tutankhamun was
killed by the prime minister. It's simply a murder case, or even a coup d'etat.
No matter what the truth is, the later generations who had ever or attempted
to enter Tutankhamun's sacred tomb to search for the pharaoh's burial chamber
seemed to get into the miserable fates --they died unexpectedly for no reason.
I think that it might be the explanation that this pharaoh who died young was
dead with regret.
