Looking ahead to next year's competition, ILSA is delighted to announce that
the 2009 Jessup Compromis will address -- The Power and Authority of the
International Court of Justice.
ILSA is also proud to announce that 2009 will mark the 50th Anniversary of
the Jessup Competition. We hope that everyone will join us in the year long
celebration. Please keep an eye out for announcements about events
commemorating the Anniversary.

Jessup Schedule
July 2008 Registration Opens.
August 2008 Release of Official Jessup Rules.
23 September 2008 Anticipated Release Date of the Jessup Compromis (The
Problem).
October 2008 Release of First Batch of Basic Materials.
20 October 2008 DEADLINE for Requests from Teams for Corrections and
Clarifications to the Jessup Compromis. Requests must
be sent to the ILSA Executive Office by email to
clarifications@ilsa.org.
3 November 2008 DEADLINE for Registration for Schedule I Teams.
10 November 2008 Anticipated Release Date of Corrections and
Clarifications to the Jessup Compromis.
28 November 2008 DEADLINE for Registration for Schedule II and III Teams.
DEADLINE for submitting Team Roster. This is the last
day on which teams may submit the names of their team
members.
DEADLINE for submitting Waiver Applications. This is
the last day on which teams with limited financial
resources may apply for a waiver/discount of the
registration fee.
DEADLINE for Eligibility Inquiries. This is the last
day on which individuals may request the Executive
Director’s special permission to compete under
Official Rule 2.2.2.
DEADLINE Basic Materials Suggestions. This is the last
day on which teams may suggest documents to be included
in the Second Batch of Basic Materials.
December 2008 Release of Second Batch of Basic Materials.
12 January 2009 DEADLINE for Submission of Memorials. Memorials must be
emailed to the Regional/National Administrators and the
ILSA Executive Office via email in accordance with the
Official Rules. Additional submission requirements and
earlier deadlines may be imposed by a National
Supplement to the Rules. It is the responsibility of
teams to know the submission requirements of their
National Rules Supplement, if any. Teams should contact
their National Administrator if they are unsure whether
a National Rules Supplement exists.
Jan – Feb 2009 REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ROUNDS. Dates for Regional and
National Competitions will be posted on the Jessup
Website as they become available.
22 – 28 March 2009 SHEARMAN & STERLING INTERNATIONAL ROUNDS.
28 March 2009 SHEARMAN & STERLING JESSUP CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND.
