An Introductory Study of Advertising Style in San Liu Jiu Tabloid


Abstract


Advertisement in newspaper is the oldest advertising media in Taiwan.
Different features of each period of time can be found by observing
the style of advertisement in newspaper.
Many researches focus on the development of advertisement
in Taiwan's newspaper of the time after the end of the Japanese occupation
in 1945. However, there is no research focusing on the advertising style
in Taiwan's newspaper published during the Japanese occupation.


Consequently, this thesis is going to analyze a particular tabloid,
the San Liu Jiu Tabloid, which was written in Mandarin and published
during the Japanese occupation. The thesis will consist of in-depth
analyses about the differences in directions, forms and contexts
of advertisement printed on the San Liu Jiu Tabloid.
Hopefully the analyses on the advertisement printed
on the San Liu Jiu Tabloid will help us to figure out
the developing trend of advertisement at that time.
At the same time, we sill be able to piece together
the condition of consumption in Taiwan during the Japanese occupation.
Early development of advertisement in Taiwan can also be presented.

提要


報紙廣告為台灣歷史最悠久的廣告媒體，從報紙廣告的風格之中可以窺得每個時期社會
的不同特色。然而，過去眾多關於台灣報紙廣告的風格研究多著重於1945年光復後
台灣報紙廣告的發展，卻沒有任何有關日據時期報紙廣告的風格研究。


因此，本文將選擇日據時期具有鮮明特色的漢文通俗報紙《三六九小報》
做為分析對象。本文將針對報紙上所刊登的廣告作一深入的分析，
將依照不同的面向：形式、內容的不同來作分析，
分成廣告表現內容與廣告表現形式來深入探討《三六九小報》的廣告風格。
希望透過分析《三六九小報》的廣告版面可以看出當時的報紙廣告的發展的趨勢，
同時拼湊出日據時代的台灣社會的消費情形，也可呈現台灣廣告發展初期的景象。
