Provided a wonderful one, you are quite likely to marvel at the genius of the gifted director, playwright, or splendid actors; supposing conversely, you are doomed to lash out torrents of vulgar curses. Undeniably, encountering a sterile movie is in every regard-- money, time, expectation, to name but a few-- an outrageous waste of life. In short, it is like a catastrophe. The same period of time could have been used much more productively: even napping, for example, beckons more. If an impressive movie leaves you in a state of euphoria (I myself do go over the plot time and again to savor every little bit of the touching moment), a murderous one will devastate you with no mercy. In other words, you could do nothing more than complain, but doing so only works to worsen the disappointment, turning it into a frustration. Thus, if unfortunately fooled by imagination-retarded director(s), you had better just let go your anger and wishfully expect the next to be a better one. The encounter with movies, to some degree like blind dates, is often a matter of chance. Never expect, or worry, too much. Smile while good luck knocks at your door; otherwise, just forgive and forget it. -- Anything worth doing is worth doing well. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.119.27.34
