To think outside the box 是 什 麼 意 思 ？
The box 這 裡 指 固 定 的 思 想 框 框 ， to think outside the box 即 「 在 固
定 框 框 以 外 思 想 」 ， 也 就 是 不 落 窠 臼 ， 有 創 新 的 想 法 ， 例 如
： The ability to think outside the box is very important if you want to
succeed in business circles （ 要 在 商 界 成 功 ， 必 須 能 夠 創 新 ） 。
To think outside the box 是 頗 隨 便 的 說 法 ； 謹 嚴 一 點 ， 可 改 用
innovation （ 創 新 ） 、 ingenuity （ 獨 創 力 ） 等 字 ， 例 如 上 一 段 的
例 句 可 改 寫 如 下 ： （ 1 ） Ingenuity is very important if you want to
succeed in business circles 。 （ 2 ） You must be very innovative if you
want to succeed in business circles 。
Gotta 等 於 have got to 、 has got to 還 是 got to ？ 可 用 來 說 過 去 、 現
在 還 是 未 來 ？ Have / Has got to 和 got to 有 分 別 嗎 ？
Have / Has got to 是 「 必 須 」 的 意 思 ， 口 頭 上 往 往 略 作 got to ， 但
這 一 般 視 為 不 正 確 說 法 。 Gotta 則 是 按 got to 的 讀 音 拼 成 ， 例
如 ： （ 1 ） I gotta （ =I got to / I've gotta / I've got to ） see her now
（ 我 現 在 就 要 見 她 ） 。 （ 2 ） He gotta （ =He got to / He's gotta /
He's got to ） submit his plan to the committee tomorrow （ 他 明 天 就 得 向
委 員 會 呈 交 計 劃 。 （ Have / Has ） got to 用 來 說 現 在 、 未 來 都 可
以 。 說 過 去 ， 一 般 會 用 had to ， 不 用 got to 。
Gotta 還 可 當 作 have / has got a （ 有 一 個 ） 的 口 頭 縮 略 說 法 ， 例
如 ： He gotta dog （ =He has got a dog 他 有 一 隻 狗 ） 。
