Hear 、 see 等 說 「 聽 到 」 、 「 看 到 」 的 動 詞 之 後 ， 常 用 「 受 詞
（ object ） ＋ 原 形 動 詞 （ infinitive ） / ing 形 式 動 詞 」 ， 那 是 不
錯 的 ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） I heard the door chime / chiming （ 我 聽 見 門 鐘
響 起 ） 。 （ 2 ） She watched the children play / playing football （ 她 看
著 孩 子 踢 足 球 ） 。 讀 者 說 的 一 句 ， chimes 改 為 chime 、 chiming 都
可 以 。
但 是 ， 原 句 並 沒 有 錯 。 Hear 之 後 可 以 只 用 受 詞 ， 而 chime 也 可
作 名 詞 ， 指 鐘 或 鐘 聲 ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） Did you hear the gunshot （ 你
有 沒 有 聽 見 那 槍 聲 ？ ） （ 2 ） The chimes of the cuckoo clock sounded
very pleasant （ 布 穀 鳥 自 鳴 鐘 的 鐘 聲 很 悅 耳 ） 。 Door chimes 就 是
門 鐘 或 門 鐘 聲 。 例 如 ： Do not try to board the train when the door
chimes start ringing （ 門 鐘 響 起 時 ， 不 要 走 上 列 車 ） 。

necessary 這 兩 句 ， 哪 句 較 好 ？
兩 句 意 思 不 同 ， 很 難 說 哪 一 句 好 一 點 ， 第 一 句 全 寫 是 Please
take any actions that are deemed necessary （ 請 施 行 任 何 認 為 必 要 的 手
段 ） ， 第 二 句 全 寫 是 Please take any actions if it is deemed necessary
（ 假 如 認 為 有 必 要 ， 請 施 行 任 何 手 段 ） 。 兩 句 文 法 都 沒 有 錯
， 一 是 用 了 關 係 子 句 （ relative clause ） 省 略 法 ， 一 是 用 了 假 設
子 句 （ if-clause ） 省 略 法 。
