NCIS TO GET NEW LOOK NEXT YEAR

You can expect changes on at least one of CBS’ hit dramas next season.

“Basically, the team is breaking apart,” Donald P Bellisario, creator of
Tuesday night hit NCIS, explained. “Everyone’s still going to be there, but
they won’t necessarily be working together anymore.”

NCIS, which revolves around federal agents as they investigate crimes with
ties to the military, premiered two-and-a-half years ago, and has been a
steady hit almost ever since. So why the sudden changes now?

“Well, there’s several divisions in the actual organization – the death
investigations unit, anti-terrorism, the cold case division, and criminal
intelligence, and we’ve really only touched on the first two so far,”
 explains Mark Harmon, who plays Special Agent Jethro Gibbs, leader of the
soon-to-be fragmented team. “And Don wants to show some of the other units
as well, but you can’t do that with the format we have right now. And I
think the change will be a good thing.”

Cote de Pablo, who joined the series this year as former Mossad operative
Ziva David, agrees. “There’s talk even of an episode involving the NCIS
training program,” she says. “I’m really looking forward to it.”

Bellisario cautions that the change won’t necessarily come under positive
circumstances. “We haven’t finalized how exactly it’s going to happen,”
 he admits. “But let’s put it this way – nobody’s volunteering for it.”
