Henin-Hardenne opens preparation for Australian Open with two losses
BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Former No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne lost a second
straight exhibition match in her comeback, falling 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to Elena
Dementieva on Sunday.
Henin-Hardenne lost 6-2, 7-5 to Nathalie Dechy on Saturday at the Women's
Tennis Trophy tournament in the southern city of Charleroi.
``I have to be positive, I still have a few weeks,'' said Henin-Hardenne, who
hadn't played a match since September because of weakness from a viral illness
that affected her the second half of the season.
She's hoping to tune up in time to defend her title at the Australian Open.
``My body has to get accustomed again to the stress, the rhythm,'' she told
RTBF network. ``This is a new start. I have to recover my touch.
Henin-Hardenne dropped from first to eighth in the WTA rankings this year.
