Belgium's Xavier Malisse had to recover from a second-set setback to come
through his first-round match at the International Series in Delray Beach.

The third seed eventually overcame the USA's Jeff Morrison 6-2 4-6 7-5.

Elsewhere, Denmark's Kenneth Carlsen defeated Eric Nunez of the USA 7-5 6-4
and top seed Vincent Spadea eased past Hugo Armando 6-2 6-3.

Fifth seed Ricardo Mello of Brazil beat Tomas Zib 7-6 (7-4) 6-3, and Kevin
Kim had no problems against Frank Dancevic.
