Dear Friends,
First of all, one again I'd like to personally thank you for the support
during Roland Garros. It touches me, and surprised me that you were numerous.
The emotions! A few months ago, I wasn't even sure if I could compete for a
grand slam.
I arrived in Paris with ambitions; but not knowing how I could cope with the
pressures of a grand slam; especially a special one like Roland Garros.
I was faithful to my reputation, and had a very difficult early beginning.
After each match I began to feel confident, and settled.
I was freed, and released.
What happiness it was to once again raise this trophy!
I hardly had time to enjoy my victory with the lawns of Wimbledon so close to
the horizon. And there I shall be with, and I know you will be there numerous
in support behind me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
