剛剛在選課系統看到這門課的大綱終於出來了
為什麼我覺得很想笑....XD
請問這門課是物理系專門開給外系的(?) 所以會很輕鬆的意思嗎 (不可能吧)
老師ENGINEER還故意大寫....XD
請問洪在明老師教學的風格與評價是??
This is my first time teaching this course. I know that Professor Yen, who
taught this course last year, put in a lot of material (and mathematics) so
that the load was rather heavy. So I decide to make the following changes:
1. To differ from the quantum physics course for physics majors in the third
year, I shall choose to be broad instead of deep at covering more topics.
2. Different from last year, this time it is only one-semester course. So I
cannot put in too much mathematics anyway, even if I want to torture you
guys.
3. Some engineering students have come to me for help over the years on
various modern physics concepts (such as quantum mechanics, statistical
mechanics,and solid-state physics). Their complaints are that these are
generally not taught in the engineering school. Furthermore, they don't have
enough background (and courage) to learn these topics formally from the
physics dept. So I think this one-semester course will be a good opportunity
to HELP these ENGINEERS. If you are physics majors, you should be convinced
by now that, if I aim this courseat the level of non-physics students, the
load will definitely can't be tooheavy.
There will inevitably a little math, but the rest of the lectures will
be more like a walk in the park.
The main textbook is tentatively set to be
Modern Physics, by J. Bernstein, P. M. Fishbane, and S. Gasiorowicz
(Prentice Hall, 2000)
