據Aeneas自己的敘述，他有看到眾神施力讓Troy陷落。(2.771-780)
與其怪罪Venus，不如說是Virgil要給驍勇善戰的Aeneas找離開Troy的合法理由。

We never know they are fulfilled exactly, because the Aeneid ends well before
these happened. (It is often speculated that Virgil planned Aeneid to be of
24 books.)
But in general, not everything prophesied should be carried out in epics. For
example, Iliad ends before the fall of Troy.
And we are to know Virgil knew what happened till his day. In other words
saying, he can instill the historical accounts with prophecies in the past,
which are an important feature of epics.
In this case, Virgil probably devised this famous episode from his reflections
over the long-term antagonism between Rome and African powers, such as
Cleopatra and Hannibal.
