Skiing
What are you going to wear?
Just my ski jacket and my old jeans.
Do you think you'll be warm enough?
Oh yes! I'll have warm woolen socks and thermal underwear on.
Everybody ready? Off we go!
Wait for me! You're going too fast!
Be careful! It's icy here!
Don't ski off the marked runs!
What do you want to do tomorrow?
I want to try snowboarding or maybe find a ski guide.
What for? To go off-piste skiing or to go to the top?
Neither. I want to try cross-country skiing.
It's supposed to be easier than downhill skiing.
We're arriving at the resort now. We'll have to put the snow chains on.
Let's hope there's enough snow to ski!
Yes, remember we had no snow last year.
They said it would snow tonight.
Great! We'll have nice powder snow tomorrow.
I want to ski immediately after breakfast.
We have to rent your skis, boots, poles, and buy your ski pass.
Then we'll take the cable car or chair lift up to the pistes.
We'll start with easy slopes.
We won't go too far tomorrow.
I definitely won't take you on any black runs.

Gosh, it's windy today!
We should be out sailing on a day like this.
Yes, it's a perfect day to take you out on my new catamaran.
We should be able to find someone else to come with us.
Someone who doesn't get seasick!
We'll meet at the harbour in an hour.
I need to get the equipment first.
I can bring a life jacket if you want.
See your there, then. My boat's moored between two yachts.
Do you know what we call the front of a ship?
No. I haven't got a clue.
It's the bow. And the back of the boat?
I don't know the exact word. Is it the helm?
No, it's the stern.

Do I leave the mooring ropes on the quay?

It would be easier if I knew what that meant!

MOUNTAINEERING
You're practically halfway now!
I feel we're getting closer to the sun. Just like Icarus!
I'm glad I've got special sun lenses!
I'm a little short of breath.
I think you're starting to feel the lack of oxygen.
Only a few hundred yards to go!
The view is out of this world!
What an intense moment! I can actually hear the silence!
I told you the reward matched the effort!
I'm literally exhausted! But I've made it to the top!
We're going to climb Kilimanjaro!
Oh! So that's what all these things are for.
It's going to be a long, grueling mountain hike.
I've always dreamt of doing something crazy like that.
So, what's going into your backpack?
New climbing boots, two climbing ropes and a pickaxe.
That's not all, I should imagine.
No, there's also my ultralight skiing equipment, pitons and snap hooks.
Have you thought about a first-aid kit?
I've got pills, ointment and insect repellent.
The ascent's going to be strenuous, you know!
But the reward will be unforgettable invigorating and exhilarating.
I hope my limbs don't swell because of the high altitude.
Don't worry, that's not life-threatening.
