What the reading passage unveils are the hree major starategies of
children disciplines : through power, through love-withholding, and
through rules-management.
As suggested by the reading, despite the possible backfire effects of the
resorting-to-power discipline - such as shaping kid's hostility,
defiance, seeding aggression in society - this doctrine is
paradoxically adopted by most parents who seem to be able to
come to terms with spanking the youngsters or threatening to
employ physical punishment. Another Janus-faced discipline
manner is to stop showering affection on children. Strange, too, is
the fact that this method, while subjecting the discipline to
constant fidget, insecurity and abnormal reliance on others, many
parents still embrace this discipline : they either refuse to
communicate or purposefully leave the kids to inattention.
Brought to light , finally, is the management technique. Standing
as the most efficient and positive so far, this education strategy

the good from the bad. The trick, through, fall on the consistency
