Dear All,
Happy New Year 2012!! I wish you increasing in wisdom and in stature this
year.
Some students have been asking about the Final exam and the project set.
As printed in the course syllabus and discussed in the first class of the
semester, the Final exam is “a comprehensive test which will require you to
integrate the class material in a meaningful way”, even though there will be
also some problems in the Final exam that are focused only on the class
materials that are taught after the third midterm. Since the exam has not
been written yet, I do not know exactly what the ratio of the two types of
problems is. My VERY ROUGH guess is that the ratio will be 50:50.
Because your preparation for the comprehensive Final exam will take you
quite an amount of time, I do not plan to hand out more project sets to add
any course load on you. Instead, I want you to be able to find time to review
the class materials that were taught in the early part of the semester.
