Abstract:
Christmas, the second highest holiday of Christianity, is celebrated in most
counties of the world in one way or another. Every culture has its own specific
fashion of preparing the feast of the birth of Jesus Christ. In modern times,
many Christmas customs can be observed internationally but some are still
unique to the cultures of their origin. I will present the way Germans celebrate
their Christmas and introduce some typical German Christmas customs like St.
Niklaus day on December 6th.
Everybody who is interested is welcome. This presentation will be given in
English, though questions in Chinese are possible.
