1. Please write down the (four) Maxwell's equations (12%)
   and give a brief interpretation for each one. (8%)

2. Two parallel-plate capacitors have the same plate area A and separation d,
   but the dielectric constants of the materials between their plates are
   k + delta(k) in one and k - delta(k) in the other.
   (delta(k): 就是那個三角形符號後面接一個k...)

   (a) Find the equivalent capacitance when they are connected in parellel.
   (b) If the total charge on the parallel combination is Q,
       what is the charge on the capacitor with the larger capacitance? (12%)

3. The figure shows a length of wire with a central semicircular arc,
   placed in a uniform magnetic field B that points out of the plane
   of the figure. If the wire carries a current i, what resultant
   magnetic force F acts on it? (13%)

4. Please give the definitions of electric and magnetic dipole p and u. (10%)
   What is their torque and potential energy in electric and magnetic
   field. (10%)    (u: 請自動想成樣子最像的希臘字母XD)

5. Find an expression for the magnitude E of the induced electric field at
   points within the magnetic field, at radius r from the center of the
   magnetic field. (10%)

6. Please derive the orbital magnetic dipole moment Uarb of an electron in
   an atom with its orbital angular moment Larb (10%)
   (Uarb, Larb: u是剛剛說的那個希臘字母, 然後arb是下標)

7. Please derive the number density n of charge carriers with charge e in
   conducting strip of thickness L carrying a current I placed in a magnetic
   field B, creating a potential difference V across the strip.
   (Hall Effect) (15%)
