1. the factors are called genes different forms of agene are called alleles
2. genotype基因型: genetic makeup (AA, Aa, or aa)
phenotype表現型: appearance(purple or white)
homozygous: the two factors(alleles)for a trait are identical e.g AA, aa, RR, rr
heterozygous: alleles are different e.g Aa, Rr
3. test cross: to distinguish homozygous from heterozygous (AA from Aa)
cross the unknown to a recessive tester(aa)
AA×aa→ all Aa dominant phenotype
Aa×aa→ 1Aa: 1aa 1/2 dominant, 1/2 recesive
