Below is Frank's Bio.
Mr. Frank Lin currently serves as the special project manager for the Orbiter
Project Office. In this capacity, Mr. Lin manages numerous projects related
to the Orbiter Thermal Protection System (TPS) from conceptual design through
hardware delivery and implementation including several on-orbit tile and
Reinforced Carbon-Carbon (RCC) repair projects. He is also the Technical
Manager's Representative (TMR) for the Orbiter TPS system. As the Orbiter
TPS TMR, he reviews and approves all ground processing specifications for the
Orbiter TPS system and manages all improvement projects associated with the
TPS system. Prior to joining the Orbiter Project Office, Mr. Lin was the
Element/Systems Design Lead for numerous NASA Exploration concept vehicles
and launch package engineer for the International Space Station Program. Mr.
Lin also had extensive experience in ground processing of the Orbiter and the
Solid Rocket Booster at the Kennedy Space Center.
Frank emigrated from Taiwan to United States of America in 1982 shortly after
he turned 16 years old. Frank completed high school in Hollywood Florida and
attended University of Florida at where he received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Aerospace Engineering. Upon graduating from University of Florida,
Frank accepted a position at the Kennedy Space Center processing the Space
Shuttle Solid Rocket Boosters. While working at the Kennedy Space Center,
Frank attended Florida Institute of Technology at night and received his
Masters of Science degree in Space Systems. Frank is currently married with
two daughters and resides in League City, Texas.
