有很多樂評人解讀U2這首歌，認為U2用男女糾纏的感情來形容
英國和北愛爾蘭的愛恨情仇。
我認為那樣的解讀是淺了一點，我認為，這是U2本身對於北愛爾蘭共和軍
的複雜情感，他們期盼IRA能為北愛帶來幸福，但又痛恨IRA的殘酷冷血。
在紀錄片 "It Might Get Loud"中，U2吉他手Edge說，在一連串死傷無數平民
的爆炸案後，他們灌錄了 "War" 這張專輯。這表明了，U2想要對話的對象不僅
是英國，同時還有北愛爾蘭共和軍。
po在這裡，是因為二十年前我第一次聽到這首歌的時候，就想到台灣在面對
兩岸關係時不正是如此?
