Dear Friends,
Formosa Plastics Group is the biggest manufacturer in Taiwan.
It prides itself as a corporate citizen with roots planted
firmly in the community and that it has founded several medical
and educational nonprofit organizations.
Yet its treatment of its foreign workers is not that compassionate.
Even before the beatings of four Filipino workers and their
deportation with twelve others on August 2, the FPG in Mailiao,
Yun Lin County terminated a worker and intimidated 100 others for
complaining against overcharging of placement fees in the guise of
a loan.
We, concerned migrant advocates, therefore would like to invite
you to join us in a protest action/ press conference against the
Formosa Plastics Group for their treatment of their foreign workers.
This will be held on December 8 at 10am at the FPG Headquarters
building in 201, Tung Hwa (Dun Hua) North Road, Taipei, Taiwan.
