GIR Division Taiwan Part-Time Intern Program
The Goldman Sachs Group is a bank holding company and a leading global
investment banking, securities and investment management firm. Goldman Sachs
provides a wide range of services worldwide to a substantial and diversified
client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments
and high net worth individuals. Founded in 1869, the firm is headquartered in
New York and maintains offices in London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and
other major financial centers around the world.
THE DIVISION: Global Investment Research forms a vital link between the
Firm's Business Divisions by providing analysis that significantly impact
markets, companies, industries, economies and currencies worldwide in three
main areas: economics, portfolio strategy, and securities analysis. Our
research analysts earn their reputation by: analyzing the performance of
companies and industry sectors; developing key investment ideas that are used
by buy-side firms to structure portfolios.
The 2010 part-time internship program is open to final year students
currently pursuing a university degree and residing in Taipei. Interns will
be in the office for approximately 20hours/week for 3 months with possibility
for extension.
Principal Responsibilities:
‧ Writing notes on companies under coverage
‧ Developing and updating financial models
‧ Supporting a writing analyst to help him/her build the franchise
‧ Taking care of client/sales requests
‧ Interpreting data and analysis on market, economic, and political events
‧ Communicating with the Equities sales force and traders, clients, and
company managements
Experience/Skills:
‧ Strong valuation skills and modeling skills are required
‧ Strong ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation
analysis
‧ 1-2 years of fundamental research or investment banking experience
preferred
‧ Excellent writing and communication skills in English
‧ Strong ability to multi-task and work with teams
‧ Fluent in Mandarin
‧ Comparable business/financial experience preferred
