The prevention and control of newly-arisen epidemics
-Recognize mankind's weakness, fight the catastrophe
International paper presentation competition
Target
Medical students and professionals
Objective
1. to investigate why emerging epidemics make such tremendous effects on
humanity.
2. to share how the authority and the medical field deal with these new
diseases
3. to discuss the attitude we should attain when facing a new epidemic
(especially from the medical aspects)
Content of presentation
1. Describe - Describe the early suspicion and detection to newly-arisen
epidemics
- About standard early diagnosis
2. Explain - How to identify the sources and mechanisms of these new diseases
and the high risk groups
3. Control - What governments, health centers and clinics can do for
infection control ex: Describe how governments set up an
isolation area, or how the medical and nursing staffs provide
patient care
- What non-government organizations can do
4. Predict - How to establish a prediction model
- How to prevent a second outbreak in the future
