Series now belongs to Spurs Spursreport.Com Monday, May 12, 2008 It's now a best of three series with two of those games set to take place in New Orleans. The Spurs have managed to even up a series many counted them out of after two blow-outs on the Hornets' home court. Duncan wheeled and dealed inside, scoring 22 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, blocking four shots and handing out three assists. Parker drove the paint with cold-stare intensity and while he only made two of his four layup attempts in the seven minutes, he set the tone. San Antonio would not settle for 3s right away. They were in attack mode. "Tony always needs to be aggressive," Popovich said. "We're not the same team if he's not." Asked if the Spurs had gotten into the Hornets' heads and taken away some of their confidence, the Spurs had different answers. Tim Duncan saih he hopes Spurs have done just that. While Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said:"We're just trying to play better than them and win. They beat us badly the first two games." There were be reason to believe that the Spurs have figured out exactly how to beat these young, more athletic Hornets. San Antonio dictated the pace from start to finish and Duncan and Tony Parker played the game close to perfection. With the Spurs finding the comfort in their own confines, Spurs teammates thrived to the same tune and none of them was slowed, as the Hornets had earlier planned. The Spurs shot a 51 percent on their home floor and took control as the game progressed. In short, the Spurs made mincemeat of the Hornets' starters, limiting everyone not named Chris Paul to just 9-of-32 from the field. Paul finished 10-of-16 and had 23 points as New Orleans struggled to 40 percent shooting all game. David West was the only other New Orleans stater who finished in double figures with 10 points. He struggled on 4-of-15 shooting but had five rebounds, two assists and three blocked shot in 34 mintunes of action. Morris Peterson and Peja Stojakovic combined for 13 points while Tyson Chandler had more fouls (five) than points (two)(超爛)in 24 minutes. As one New Orleans newspaper puts it: The Hornets worked long and hard, playing 82 regular-season games over the course of six months, in order to secure home-court advantage for as long as possible in the Western Conference playoffs. Good thing they have it in the semifinals, because they're probably going to need every ounce of energy and electricity they can squeeze out of the home crowd and every advantage associated with knowing the rims and bounces of the New Orleans Arena on Tuesday night.Because on Sunday night at the AT&T Center they again failed to make a connection, agian watched the Spurs jam their signal. Note:When Spurs coach regg Popovich put Horry in Sunday's Western Conference semifinal playoff Game 4 with 1:49 remaining in the first half, it marked the 237th playoffs game of Horry's 16-year carrer. It tied with Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most playoff games in NBA history.
