Johan Santana was seen wearing an anti-inflammatory bandage after getting hit
in the shoulder by a Randy Wolf fastball during Friday's game.
(Santana was trying to lay down a bunt when the ball rode in on him and pegged
him just below the left shoulder. He'll likely wake up with a good amount of
soreness, but it's hard to say at this point if he'll miss any time. "Right
now, I can't say," he said. "We'll see how it feels.")
Jose Valentin (neck) DH'd for the second consecutive game Friday at Triple-A
New Orleans.
(Valentin went 0-for-4 with a walk and is 0-for-8 in two Triple-A games.
He could return to the Mets next week, but there's no good reason to rush him
back.)
