Mets Need Financial Help, Madoff Fallout Bigger Than Wilpons Admitted?

[The Wilpons] will look to bring on "one or more strategic partners" to
presumably help defray any losses they incurred (or may incur) related to
the Madoff incident [...]

The Wilpons aren't going to sell the team, but they will look to add some
minority investors in the club, and by "minority" I think we're still
looking at something on the order of $100 million.

Madoff mess forces Wilpons to consider selling minority stake in Mets

Mets just dropped a statement from Fred and Jeff Wilpon acknowledging
that because of the ongoing Madoff lawsuit, they are exploring selling
a minority stake in the team. The Wilpons plan to retain operating control.

Sterling will continue to be the principle owners of the Mets.
This will not impact the day-to-day operations of the Mets.
