Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Mets are "making progress" with the
Rangers and Giants in trade talks for Carlos Beltran.
The Rangers have stepped up in a big way over the past few days, with many
now calling them the favorites. Beltran has told reporters that he would be
open to a trade in the American League as long as he's not a DH, though it's
not clear if he's saying something different in private. The Braves are also
still involved in negotiations and it's possible they may step up their
pursuit after the injury to Brian McCann.
