Thoughts on Yankees in May


A few thoughts from the Metrodome to close out the month of May:

You’ve got to feel good for Ross Ohlendorf. The 25-year-old has had some
rough outings lately, giving up nine runs in his last four games. But even
after getting himself in a couple of tight jams in the 10th and 11th, he
worked his way out of them and picked up his first big-league win. He’s also
joined Jason Giambi’s mustache club, which gives him tremendous street cred.

in seven innings against the Rays (2-1 loss), five runs in 6 1/3 against the
Mariners (6-5 win) and five runs in 5 1/3 tonight (7-6 win). The Yankees have
won two of his three no-decisions, which tells you he’s not going out there
and getting bombed. He’ll turn it around soon. He’s too good not to.

Johnny Damon went first-to-third in the 12th to set up the winning run. The
Yankees might be one of the older teams in the league, but they’re starting
to run more and more as the season goes on, and that can only help them in
the long run.
這也許看起來沒什麼　但洋基隊今晚有四次盜壘
大門在12局從一壘直奔三壘　最後跑回來拿到致勝分
洋基隊也許是聯盟裡面幾支比較老邁的隊伍

For those of you obsessed with the comparison between this season and last
season, the Yankees enter June at 28-27, 5 1/2 games behind the Rays in the
American League East and 4 1/2 behind the Red Sox in the wild card race. A
year ago, the Yankees were 22-29, 13 1/2 games behind Boston in the division
and seven games behind Detroit in the wild card race. As we all know, the
Yankees made the playoffs. There’s a lot of baseball left.
要比較去年和今年嗎?
現在洋基戰績28勝 27敗　落後光芒 5 1/2場  外卡落後紅襪4 1/2場
去年此時　戰績22勝29敗 落後紅襪13 1/2場　外卡落後老虎　  7場
大家也都知道　去年打進季後賽　所以棒球還有得看
