Nick Swisher seems awfully comfortable adjusting to his new job title: "First
Baseman, New York Yankees." Swisher is looking for a fresh start, and is
hoping to settle into what he calls his best position for the long haul. He
told Pete Abraham he thinks it would be nice to have to focus only on one
position for a change.

Swisher sounded excited to be a Yankee, and thinks 2009 "will be a special
year." He wouldn't make excuses for his poor performance last year, but he
did tell the Times that last year's struggles were very humbling for him.
Mark Feinsand tells us that Swisher received calls from A-Rod and Kevin Long
welcoming him to the club.
