Imagine there are two players, Player A and Player B. They play the same
position with both being about average in the field and on the bases. They've
also had almost the same amount of career plate appearances. Based on the
following information, who would you rather play? (I'm sure most of you will
quickly identify Players A and B)
Career OPS+
Player A: 108 (Coming off career best year)
Player B: 112 (Coming off career worst year)
162 Game Averages
Player A: .280, 21, 78
Player B: .244, 28, 86
Career OBP
Player A: .335
Player B: .354
Number of 20+ Homerun Seasons
Player A: 2 (Career high of 25)
Player B: 4 (Career high of 35)
Age
Player A: 30
Player B: 28
Bats
Player A: Right
Player B: Switch
Ability To Make Pitchers Work
Player A: Not So Great
