   洋基claim了紅襪和大都會交易案中, 紅襪本來要送到大都會的外野手Chris Carter。
結果紅襪只好將Chris Carter收回去, Buster Olney表示洋基此舉是為了降低紅襪在40
人名單中的彈性, 原本將Chris Carter送去大都會後, 紅襪空出40人名單是有意在9月時
讓Paul Byrd可以上來, 但現在紅襪只能將Chris Carter留在40人名單中, 直到季後再送
人到大都會。

First place and the playoffs isn’t enough?

Apparently the Yankees have claimed Red Sox OF Chris Carter so the Mets will
have to wait till the offseason to obtain one of the players to be named
later for Billy Wagner.

It would have been nice to get a feel for him during the month of September
and see how he fits. Is this a testament to Carter’s ability or the Yankees
just tweaking the Mets? I think Carter is better than we may think.

Update: Buster Olney believes the Yankees were trying to “squeeze” the Red
Sox 40 man roster maneuverability. This may make it difficult to add Paul
Byrd to the roster in September which, by the way, is a prerequisite to his
contract.
