Agent: Wang will be ready by May 1

I chatted this morning with Alan Nero, who represents Chien-Ming Wang.
Most people expect Wang to be non-tendered by the Yankees, which would
likely result in the end of his career in pinstripes.

Mark跟王的經紀人 Alan Nero談了一會兒。
大多數的人都預測洋基會non tender王，導致他在洋基的日子將到一段落。

"If he’s non-tendered, it’s going to be a sad day for everybody," Nero
said in the Marriott lobby. The agent wouldn't rule out the idea of Wang
re-signing with the Yankees if he's non-tendered, though it didn't sound
like a realistic possibility.

「如果他被non-tender，那會是很讓人傷心的」經紀人Alan Nero說。
他沒有排除王建民在被non-teder之後，還跟洋基簽約的可能性，雖然看起來可能性很低。


Wang has always taken it personally that the Yankees took him to arbitration
two years ago over $600,000, especially on the heels of back-to-back 19-win
seasons. It's hard to blame him, since he watched them spend $46 million on
Kei Igawa.

王對於當年在連續兩年19勝後的仲裁還是耿耿於懷。尤其他看到洋基給井川的合約後
這不能怪他 （這段我懷疑）

Wang made $5 million last year, and given the status of his shoulder after
last year's surgery, it won't be a surprise to see Wang non-tendered. Still,
it won't be difficult for Nero to find a new home for Wang, who was one of
the most consistent pitchers in baseball from 2006-08 before a fluke foot
injury ended his 2008 campaign in mid-June.

王今年年薪5M，但由於他的傷勢，所以如果被non-tender，並不讓人意外
但是對Nero來說，要幫王找到新東家並不難，畢竟他在2008年的詭異傷勢之前，
從2006～2008年，算是很穩定的一位投手。

According to Nero, Wang started his throwing program on Dec. 1, and his
progress has been so good, it's possible he could be ready by Opening Day.
While that may be a stretch, it's entirely realistic that the righthander
will be ready by May 1. If that's what the Yankees believe, perhaps they
won't non-tender him after all.

根據Nero的說法，王建民從十二月一日起，開始傳球的訓練，而且他的復原及復健
進展到目前都很好，所以他有可能在開幕日時，可能就可以比賽了。
或許那可能成真，但是比較合理的推估，是王建民在五月一日準備好。
如果洋基也這麼認為的話，那麼或許洋基不會non-tender王建民。

"He’ll be ready for spring training," Nero said. "He’ll only be a few weeks
behind the other pitchers."
「在春訓時，他會準備好」Nero說，「他應該只會比其他的投手慢個幾週而已。」

- Cashman said the team has not made a decision on whether to tender a
contract to Chien-Ming Wang. Cashman said the team is still monitoring the
pitcher's rehab from surgery and will speak with doctors before making a
final call. He said Wang would be ready to pitch "sometime between April
and June."

Cashman說球隊還沒決定是否要給王建民合約。
Cashman說洋基將會持續監控王建民的復健進展並會先與醫生討論後再做決定。

他說王建民可能可以在4月～6月間的某時可以上場。(其他各外電，大多沒有這一句)

A decision on what to do with Chien-Ming Wang hasn't been made and
Cashman said he will get the latest medical information before setting
anything in stone. That said, it seems difficult at best, impossible at
worst, to predict how effective Wang will be next season.
 "I can't predict because he's not pitching right now," Cashman said.

一樣尚未做決定，要看醫療報告後才做決定。無法預測未來的表現。

The Yankees also face a decision with Chien-Ming Wang, who is expected to
be non-tendered but could be re-signed. Cashman said that the Yankees are
monitoring Wang's rehab in Taiwan and that he is expected to pitch in Major
League games between April and June.

洋基還要對王建民做出決定，一般預測他會被non-tender。但是再被簽回來也是有
可能的。Cashman說洋基目前密切觀察王建民在台灣的復健狀況，而且他預計
在四月到六月間就可以回到大聯盟投球。

"He works extremely hard -- he's very structured," Cashman said. "At the
same time, shoulders are tricky, too. Those are things we'll have to
determine."

「他非常努力的在復健中，他是那種很有條理的人（這句不確定）」Cashman說。
「但在此同時，大家都知道肩膀的傷勢很複雜。這些都會是我們需要去確定的。」
