"With Carmelo Anthony's existence in a Nuggets uniform listed as day to day,
the local NBA team could soon be in the market for a scorer and a gate
attraction. Since Troy Tulowitzki was sitting behind the Denver bench during
an exhibition game on Tuesday night, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
Have you got game, Tulo? Would there any interest in moonlighting as a
shooting guard for the Nuggets between now and the start of spring training?
"I'm a half-court shot specialist," replied Tulowitzki, a sly grin creasing
his face. Tulo apparently has the same unlimited range on a basketball court
that he exhibits playing shortstop for the Rockies.
A shooter without a conscience? Hmm, that's interesting. I'd pay to watch
Tulo launch 25-foot jumpers. But don't the Nuggets already have that position
filled? Think his name is J.R. Smith.
If the Rockies are paying Tulo $5.5 million for the upcoming baseball season,
however, how much could it cost the Nuggets to sign him for 35 games?
"Tulo told us he's available," joked Nuggets front-office executive Masai
Ujiri. "And he said he'd be willing to sign for the NBA minimum."
As a senior in high school, Tulowitzki averaged 22.6 points per game. "Hey,"
Anthony said, "22 a game anywhere is good."
OK, OK. Despite the fact Tulowitzki earned all-state recognition as a prep
basketball star in California, don't get your hopes up. He isn't signing with
the Nuggets or ever playing a game in the NBA.
Enjoy Tulo and Melo while you can.
Because, in all likelihood, they won't play in Colorado from the beginning to
the end of their prospective Hall of Fame careers.
The era when John Elway and Joe Sakic were neighbors you could count on?
Those days are gone forever.
"I love him," Anthony said of Tulowitzki, "just for what he's able to bring
to the game and watch him get better every year."
Tulowitzki attended the Nuggets' preseason game against Oklahoma City,
knowing full well that Anthony could be gone in a trade tomorrow or next
month. The New York Knicks are working diligently to put together a package
that would entice Denver to get serious in talking a deal for Melo.
"He's one of the best players in the game," said Tulo- witzki, who retired to
the Blue Sky Grill in the arena at halftime so he could watch the New York
Yankees in the American League Championship Series on one television screen
and track Anthony on another monitor.
Tulowitzki's take on Melo leaving the Nuggets in a will- he-stay-or-go limbo
is different, depending on whether the shortstop examines the situation with
his heart or brain.
"As a fan, I definitely want him to say in Denver," Tulo- witzki said. "But,
sometimes, business is business."
Business can be cruel to a fan's heart.
Just because the Nuggets made it to the Western Conference finals in 2008,
there's no guarantee they will ever go that deep into the playoffs again.
That's why it's the responsibility of the Rockies to surround Tulowitzki with
as much talent as the team can afford before the 26-year-old shortstop,
outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez can start exploring
their free-agent options.
With roots in Brooklyn, Anthony knows what the real No. 1 sport is in New
York. "Baseball was my first sport," he said. "I pitched and played first
base.""

他先前也表示不會砍價（又年輕又強，誰會不想試一下身價？）
落磯隊勢必會在2012年左右試著把他交易出去
那個時候會去哪個球隊，應該會是非常明顯的事
-----------------今年季後落磯勢必得在1B人選上綁個大約
再加上JDLR 今年必須吃下兩張大約
或許2012年會考慮交易Tulo出去
也許他是NYY過幾年SS的解答?
