           If the Yankees aren't able to sign free-agent pitcher Cliff Lee,

           they'll move onto Plan B by pursuing outfielder Carl Crawford.


           The Angels, Red Sox and Tigers appear likely suitors for Crawford,

           who is expected to leave the Rays after spending his first nine

           professional seasons in Tampa Bay.

           New York pitcher CC Sabathia is friendly with both Lee and Crawford.
