Yankees Sign Relievers Anderson and Sisco

  The Yankees signed a pair of relievers to minor league deals yesterday,
  right handed pitcher Brian Anderson and lefty Andy Sisco, according to
  Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

  Neither are especially impressive pitchers, but Brian Cashman likes to
  stockpile on cheap relievers hoping that one or two catch on and have big
  seasons. The bullpen, more than any other spot on the roster, is generally
  inconsistent and signing these types can often pay off as much as signing
  big name guys.

  If Anderson's name is familiar it might be because he's been around the
  league as an outfielder, mostly with the White Sox, from 2005 until 2009.
  He even spent some time with the Red Sox. The Royals coverted the
  28-year-old to a pitcher last season. He tossed 17.1 innings between
  Rookie-Ball and Triple-A with a 2.08 ERA, 17 strikeouts, and five walks
  last season.

  Sisco, 27, played parts of three seasons in the majors with the Royals
  and White Sox. His rookie year in 2005 was actually impressive as he
  pitched in 67 games over 75.1 innings with the Royals putting up a 142
  ERA+. His control issues have been his biggest problem as he has a 5.7
  BB/9 ratio over 147.2 innings in his career. He's a huge guy, 6’10〃
  and 275 lbs. who has missed 2008 and 2009 due to Tommy John surgery.
