Just heard that talks between the Dodgers and the Nationals have heated up.
The deal was said to be "close" and "probable". The Dodgers sinking in the
West originally wanted a 72-hour window to negotiate an extension with
Soriano but the Nats basically said no. The Dodgers now are looking to make
the deal before they fall back any further in the West. At least this is what
was said....
they players rumored are
Dodgers get: Soriano
Nats get: Joel Guzman, Willie Aybar, J. Broxton, and O. Perez.
The Dodgers have insisted that Odalis Perez be included in the deal. The
Dodgers are said to be picking up a "heafty" portion of his contract however.
Nats said that any deal must involve either Kemp or Guzman, the Dodgers are
making Guzman ( a converted shortstop) available. deal is once again expected
to be within the next 72 hours....so they say at least.
